🟩 A LITTER THAT BEGINS LONG BEFORE THE PUPPIES ARE BORN

There are litters that begin simply by bringing together two dogs.

And then there are litters that begin first on paper, after careful study of pedigrees, genetics, health, temperament, working ability and the qualities that each bloodline may contribute to the next generation.

This is the philosophy behind our upcoming litter:

Puppies are expected to be born in late October 2026.

This breeding has been carefully planned with a clear objective: to preserve and strengthen the qualities we consider essential in the Working-Line German Shepherd Dog — strong nerves, temperament, balance, working ability, health, trainability and the ability to live harmoniously as part of a family.

Both parents come from Czech working bloodlines with important roots tracing back to the historic former DDR working lines, a genetic heritage traditionally associated with dogs selected primarily for functionality, character, physical soundness and working ability.

Both Sony and Wexa are approved breeding dogs, free from hip and elbow dysplasia and tested for the major hereditary diseases relevant to the breed.

🟢 SONY SPOD LAZOV – IGP1

WORKING BLOOD BEHIND THE SIRE

Sony spod Lazov is a male with a particularly interesting working pedigree.

He is the son of:

Enox Maranaberg – IGP3

Dona spod Lazov – SVV1

Through Enox, his pedigree includes Xoltan von Peroh – IGP3 and Mia vom Metterursprung – IPO3.

Through Dona, we find Oran z Gemera – IPO1 and Juta spod Lazov – BH, SVV1.

This is a pedigree in which working ability is not simply written on paper: generation after generation, we find dogs that have demonstrated their qualities through working titles and selection.

Sony therefore carries a genetic heritage strongly connected to the Eastern European working tradition, where temperament, resilience, functionality and the ability to work with the handler have always played a central role in breeding selection.

🟢 WEXA Z O.B.A.-MAGNUM NITRA – IGP1

BALANCE, CHARACTER AND WORKING ABILITY

Wexa represents many of the qualities we seek in our breeding program: balance, strong temperament, willingness to cooperate with the handler, environmental confidence and natural working ability.

She is the daughter of:

On the paternal side of her pedigree we find Botox von Alfred's Hof – IPO3, FH2, while on the maternal side appears Wolf aus der Königshöhle – IPO3, together with other significant representatives of Central and Eastern European working bloodlines.

Wexa's pedigree combines extremely interesting working genetics and makes her, in our opinion, an excellent complement to Sony.

🟢 A PEDIGREE STUDIED GENERATION BY GENERATION

LOW INBREEDING – HIGH GENETIC DIVERSITY

Sony × Wexa was not chosen by chance.

In addition to the qualities of the individual dogs, we carefully evaluated the genetic and genealogical compatibility of the two pedigrees.

Calculated over 5 generations, this combination shows:

COI – INBREEDING COEFFICIENT: 0.78%

AVK – ANCESTOR LOSS COEFFICIENT: 93.55%

These figures indicate very low inbreeding and a high degree of ancestor diversity within the five generations considered.

Among the common ancestors appearing further back in the pedigree calculation are:

For us, breeding is not simply about putting two excellent dogs together.

It is about finding two pedigrees that can complement one another and creating the genetic conditions from which the next generation can develop.

🟢 WHAT DO WE EXPECT FROM THESE PUPPIES?

SPORT • WORK • FAMILY • BALANCE

Genetics can never guarantee the exact temperament or abilities of an individual puppy. However, by studying the parents, their ancestors and the characteristics expressed through their bloodlines, we can define very clearly what we are aiming for with this combination.

We expect puppies with strong nerves, good temperament, environmental confidence, curiosity, concentration, trainability and a strong desire to interact and cooperate with their handler.

From a sporting perspective, we are looking for puppies with motivation, willingness to work, interest in play, prey drive, concentration and natural cooperation with the handler.

These qualities may make some of the puppies particularly interesting prospects for IGP and other dog sports.

But at Vom Torfini, we do not believe that a true working German Shepherd should only be a dog for the training field.

A WORKING DOG MUST ALSO KNOW HOW TO LIVE.

Our goal is to breed a German Shepherd capable of switching on when it is time to work and switching off when the work is over.

A dog that can show intensity, motivation and determination on the training field while maintaining the clarity, stability and balance required for everyday life.

For this reason, we expect this litter to produce puppies potentially suitable both for sport handlers looking for a young prospect for IGP or other working disciplines and for active, knowledgeable families looking for a stable, intelligent and deeply devoted German Shepherd.

🟢 THE RIGHT PUPPY FOR THE RIGHT PERSON

OUR WORK CONTINUES AFTER BIRTH

During the first weeks of life, each puppy will be carefully observed as an individual.

We will evaluate temperament, environmental confidence, initiative, motivation, interaction with people, adaptability and emerging working characteristics.

Our objective is not simply to assign puppies according to colour or order of preference.

Whenever possible, we want to match the right puppy with the right handler or family.

A puppy showing stronger sporting potential can be directed toward an experienced working or sport home, while a puppy displaying a temperament particularly suited to everyday life can be matched with an active family looking for a balanced companion.

Because the real value of breeding is not measured only by the puppies that are born.
